No, we are not on December 2, when FIFA will announce the organising countries for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup. But, sometimes, a message is crystal clear although it has not been said out loud. Blatter is, as I write this article, meeting with England Prime Minister in Downing Street. The FIFA boss statements are unambiguous and without misunderstanding; he is backing the England’s bid.

The USA is  bidding to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022.  Yesterday, Indra Nooyi, the chairman and chief executive of PepsiCo, is the latest addition to the a high-profile board of directors. She accepted the invitation to join the Board of Directors for the USA Bid Committee with the aim of hosting the FIFA World Cup to the United States in 2018 or 2022.

Hi everyone,
Some elements tend to confirm that the 2018 World Cup will take place in Europe. Back in January 2010, Sepp Blatter revealed a consensus of opinion among the governing body’s members. Qatar is strongly focusing on hosting the World Cup in 2022. Harold Mayne-Nicholls, the president of the Chilean Football Federation, said that “the country had come a long way since hosting the World Youth Championship in 1995 and noted that football plays a key role in the national masterplan.”

Hi everyone,
The inspection team from Fifa, soccer’s world governing body, is set to conclude its tour of the European countries bidding to host the World Cup with a visit to Spain and Portugal. The delegation, led by Harold Mayne-Nicholls, the president of the Chilean Football Federation, has already inspected venues and facilities in the Netherlands and Belgium, Russia and England this month and will arrive in the Spanish capital Madrid on Monday afternoon to start its tour of the Iberian countries.

Hi all,
The FIFA delegation in charge of inspecting the 2018-2022 bidding nation sset sail to England for a 4 day inspection.  The inspection team, led by Harold Mayne-Nicholls, the president of Chilean Football Federation, and includes Danny Jordaan, the head of the organising committee for this year’s World Cup in South Africa, arrived in London yesterday to begin its tour of venues and facilties. Hi all,
The FIFA delegation visiting the bidding countries for the 2018-2022 World Cup inspected the Russian facilities and venues on August 16-19. Russia is bidding to host the World Cup either in 2018 or 2022. The FIFA delegation went to Holland and Belgium the week before and the delegation lead by Harold Mayne-Nicholls, the President of the Chilean Football Federation stayed 4 days in Putin…sorry….Medvedev’s Russia.

Hello everyone,
I pointed out in a previous article that the United Arab Emirates is the new football destination. Qatar bidding for the 2022 World Cup is strengthening this statement. The World Cup has not been held in the middle east yet, but the UAE have successfully organised the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi in 2009. Although Qatar and the UAE are two different countries, football is a fantastic (economic) boost for the region.

In September, the FIFA World Cup bid delegation, headed by Harold Mayne-Nicholls, will visit 5 United States football venues. The FIFA officials trip to the US is scheduled from September 6 to 9 and will visit exclusively east coast venues due to time constraints.

Yesterday, the FIFA delegation has begun its inspection of Australia’s bid to host the 2022 World Cup. On the menu: touring facilities in Sydney, including the ANZ Stadium, the main venue for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Hi all,

Following my yesterday post about FIFA visit in Japan, next chapter today with FIFA officials trip to South Korea to visit football facilities in Seoul and other South Korean cities. The delegation, still headed by Harold Mayne-Nicholls, the President of the Chilean Football Federation, flew into the capital on July 22nd after completing their visit to Japan, the first country on the itinerary.
