In January 2012 Warrior Sports officially announced its ground breaking deal with Liverpool FC starting in for the 2012/2013 season. The Boston based company replaced adidas and consequently signed its first major football deal. Warrior continues to break through the football clutter by signing Everton player Marouane Fellaini.

Adidas raised its forecast for sales of football products in 2012 to a new record of more than €1.6 billion ($2 billion) due to robust sales of jerseys from the German team, as well as replica match balls. It also said its coming closer to its goal of becoming the market leader in Poland by 2015 at the latest.

adidas has joined Nike and Puma to pledge to eliminate the release of hazardous chemicals throughout its supply chain. Plotting a similar timeframe as Nike and Puma, adidas promised to eliminate the discharges across both its entire supply chain and product life cycle by 2020. Its pledge comes seven weeks after a Greenpeace report linked Adidas and other apparel brands to suppliers releasing pollution into Chinese rivers.

adidas Group will use the UEFA EURO 2012 as a platform to achieve market leadership in Poland by 2015, CEO Herbert Hainer said Tuesday in Poland. The company expects the sponsorship will enable it to achieve leadership in the soccer category in Poland in 2012 and make significant strides in the Ukraine.

adidas announced their financial figures for the first half of 2011 with revenue increasing a massive 14%, a substantial increase of 10% on a currency-neutral basis in the second quarter of the year alone. Europe saw them have a huge leap in revenue where sales went up 21% as a result of strong increases at both Adidas and Reebok.

The Adidas Group announced plans to open its biggest distribution center in Niedersachsenpark, Germany, in the first half of 2013. The planned distribution center will consolidate all flows and services under one roof for all three sales channels of both the adidas and Reebok brands: Wholesale, Own Retail and e-commerce.

Nike launched its World Cup football kits made of 8 plastic bottles and extended the trend to all its categories.
