On January 1 2011, Nike took over a 38 year partnership the French Football Federation had with adidas. Nike and FFF inked a 7.5 season deal worth €320 million from 2011. A €42.6 million deal per season. Problem is, the French Women National Team plays with adidas gear at the Olympics.

Hi everyone,
Back in February 2011, adidas invited British public to name the London 2012 matchball. The chosen name is Albert. The official match ball to be used at the London 2012 Olympic Games football tournament, was officially revealed at The City of Coventry Stadium by Tom Cleverley of Manchester United and Robert Ashcroft, the 43 year old from Derbyshire who named the ball.

Companies are constantly looking for compelling ways to interact directly with their fans. In football, some clubs give the chance to fans to design their beloved club’s shirt, with obviously with some restrictions from a design and legal standpoint. Now, adidas UK is offering the public the opportunity to name the official matchball that will be used at the London 2012 Olympics.
