After months of elite competition, Albion SC, a top ranked PUMA club from San Diego won PUMA’s vElite Championship. Their grand prize was a PUMA sponsored, all expenses paid trip to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in London!
PUMA TCC Club, Albion SC traveled to London, England in early December for the trip of a life time! The all-expense-paid trip was provided by PUMA after the team won PUMA’s vElite tournament. Waiting for them in England were 3 training sessions – 2 run by Tottenham Hotspurs Academy Coaches to prepare for a friendly match game with their U16 Academy Squad.
In between the very focused, high-level training sessions, the boys were treated to some up-close on-the-pitch viewing of Tottenham First Team’s final 2 training sessions before their big match with Chelsea. The boys were privileged to observe the focus and intensity of a professional team competing at the highest levels of professional soccer and even got to meet some of the players!
Albion SC was given the unique opportunity to train with Tottenham’s John McDermott, the manager for the THFC Academy. The coach put the boys through a series of drills, ending with a challenging 3-phase offensive attacking drill that combined 3v2 passing. After the training session, the afternoon was spent driving to White Hart Lane – the home of Tottenham Hotspurs.
On the final day of the week-long training camp at Tottenham’s Training Facility, the boys met Hotspurs U16 Academy Team on one of the lush Academy training pitches for a friendly match. The game was closely contested until the final whistle, with Albion winning 2-0.
A great way to efficiently utilise assets within a portfolio. Football brands are focusing on the global picture, but they sometimes miss out on local/regional interesting ways to leverage their brands. Puma is being very smart that way!
