After the adidas MiCoach adizero, adidas launches the MiCoach Football App. In conjunction with Adidas’ release of the miCoach SPEED_CELL and the adizero F50 soccer cleat, miCoach Soccer has arrived for free on iPhone and iPod touch.
The miCoach SPEED_CELL captures an athlete’s 360 degree movement and measures key performance metrics including average speed, maximum speed, number of sprints, total distance, distance at high intensity levels, total steps and stride rates.
The miCoach SPEED_CELL can be placed directly into the cavity of the adizero F50 soccer cleat and tracks and stores up to seven hours of data and wirelessly transmits performance data to a user’s iPhone, iPod touch, MAC or PC.
Adidas’ miCoach Soccer app syncs with the miCoach SPEED_CELL, collects and visualizes data and allows athletes to share stats via their social networks or upload directly to adidas’ interactive online training system, http://www.miCoach.com.
Data can be analyzed and compared with friends, followers and some of the top soccer players in the world.
Athletes can use the stats collected from the field to power a virtual avatar featured in the miCoach Soccer mini-game and the more an athlete train or plays, the better their mini-game avatar will perform.
FC Barcelona’s Daniel Alves, one of the world’s premier defensive players, walks athletes through the app experience and provides encouragement via a series of in-app videos and motivational messages.
The app is available for free on the iTunes App Store at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/miCoach%20Football/id479843852?mt=8 [Source: Daily Finance]
