Apologies for the lack of articles about the African Cup of Nations 2012. Being in New York is fantastic., but unfortunately keeps me too much away from blogging. This tournament gets a strong scrutiny from football brands and Nike have a very specific positioning. Take a look.
Africa provided the world of football with fantastic players, and a new generation is coming. Nike chose this angle to communicate its best African players who represent the future generation of African footballers.
Nike showcases the talent of Ivorian Gervinho, Moroccan skilledful Adel Taabart, powerful Ghanean Kwadwo Asamoah, and Ayew Pelé also from Ghana. These players are the new generation of African talents, and are vocals to be considered as such.
For too long, the African football has not been put in the spotlight. This is a pledge to make a change and break the cycle. It’s all about winning, harder, stronger, faster, longer.
The Nike values are clearly emphasised on here….a relentless pursuit of victory. It’s all about making African football shine for good. It’s the end of hope, the beginning of belief.
