Against Olympique Lyonnais, the Olympique de Marseille team will unveil a new kit aiming at fighting against cancer, and specifically breast cancer.
OM was supposed to wear a very unusual kit last Sunday against Lyon. However, due to heavy rains, the game got postponed. Olympique de Marseille and adidas created a kit to raise awareness of their fight against breast cancer and cancer in general.
Black, white and pink is the colour palette chosen by adidas and approved by OM. The kit also features the logo of the National Association against Cancer.
If I were the OM marketing director, I would not have signed off on a home shirt with a complete different base colour from the traditional home kit colour. There are few key clubs values you do not “mess up” with, and a club’s home kit colour palette is one of them. My 2 cents.
