Today, Lucas Moura officially joins PSG from Santos. The 20-year-old Moura has joined from Sao Paulo in a deal worth a reported 45 million euros ($59.5 million). Lucas shoe manufacturer adidas, custom made a pair of boot for the Brazilian, featuring “Bonjour la France” and “Mon nom est Lucas”.
Sports Marketing is all about details and anticipation. As the talented Brazilian player Lucas Moura joins PSG, today during the french team winter training camp in Doha, adidas customised a pair of shoes for him with “Bonjour la France” and “Mon nom est Lucas” written on them.
Do I really need to translate? In my opinion, there are two key points here. Firstly, on a sports marketing point of view, adidas increase their South American players portfolio. Following the likes of Messi, Lucas Moura could be the top adidas flagship player.
Next, on a product marketing perspective, adidas adds Lucas Moura to their adizero players list along with….Messi. Having the adizero customised with “Bonjour la France” and “Mon nom est Lucas” is a great addition from the 3-stripes. As I said, it’s all a matter of anticipation and details.
Details lead to the big picture, which is: A great player wearing adidas footwear.
Being a PSG fan, I can’t wait to see this fantastic player performing next to Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva or Pastore.
