In partnership with Tencent, China’s leading internet portal, LFP is now offering a daily translation to Chinese Mandarin of every item available at Ligue1.com, LFP’s English-language dedicated website, which offers to fans and journalists exclusive and comprehensive content on the French League such as news, interviews, press kits, newsletters and statistics, among other features.
With this new tool, which targets tens of millions of football fans in China, the LFP continues its efforts to develop internationally.
The partnership with such an influential actor in the Chinese market as Tencent is expected to be a facilitator to the LFP and its clubs to approach such an important audience. In China, matches and highlights shows of Ligue 1 are broadcasted on Guangdong TV and Win TV.
This achievement is part of LFP’s strategy for global expansion, which comprises other landmarks such as: the partnership with Al Jazeera Sports for the exploitation of international media rights; the scheduling of one match on Sunday at 14:00 in a way it could be followed live in prime time in Asia; as well as the organization abroad of the Trophée des Champions – the French super cup competition.
