Inter Milan has extended its sponsorship deal with Nike for a further ten years, bringing the association of the Italian football team with the American sports giant beyond 25 years, having first linked up in 1998.
Nike will continue to manufacture Inter’s home and away playing kits and receive extensive brand exposure around its 80,000-seater San Siro home stadium.
According to Italian press reports, the deal is believed to be worth around €20 million a year.
The club said in a statement: ‘A key driving force will be the realisation of a joint project to open specialised stores, and the rolling out of a new strategy for the development and marketing of Inter-brand merchandise.’
‘Thanks to this agreement, Inter can now look forward to a bright future on the world stage with the backing of a strong brand that ensures continuity for the project.’ [Source: Sport Industry Biz]
