Nike will supply the official match ball of the Barclays Premier League until at least 2019 after signing a deal with the competition prolonging their relationship that’s been in place since 2000.
I often mention the importance of competition matchball sponsorship, and Nike carries on the Barclays Premier League matchball sponsorship.
Premier League Managing Director Richard Masters said that being the biggest sports brand in the world, they were well suited as a partner with the Premier League.
“As the leading global sports brand, Nike are an excellent fit for the Premier League,” he said.
“It’s very important in helping us continue to put on a high quality football competition which is enjoyed by fans in the UK and around the world.”
With Barclays withdrawing their title sponsorship, the Premier League is keen to put in place a new sponsorship structure, of which Nike is now part.
