Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC has been listed as an ‘Asset of Community Value’ by Liverpool City Council. Fans’ group, Spirit of Shankly (SoS) welcomed the decision after making the application in April this year. The listing now means Liverpool fans will be given the opportunity to purchase the stadium should the club’s current owners wish to sell.

After a battle over Newcastle’s jersey sponsor Wonga, striker Papiss Cisse has finally agreed to endorse the Magpies jersey. He was against wearing it since he stated the logo contradicted his religious beliefs.
This coming season, the Barclays Premier League in England, La Liga in Spain and Serie A in Italy — as well as the Brasilian league — will play with the new Nike Incyte Ball, the latest in football technology.

Nike launched the new England kit after the FA signed a deal with the swoosh following a 50+ year partnership with Umbro. The kit created an “outrage” within the English fans, claiming it has a too similar look to the Germany 70 kit. People, it’s a football kit….nothing more!

Emirates and PSG signed a five-year extension to their shirt sponsorship deal. Dubai-based Emirates has sponsored PSG since 2006 and its current deal, reportedly worth US$5.5 million a year, is due to expire in 2014.
